Im wet sanding my 83' ranger fiberglass boat to smooth it out and take the clear coat off, then using rubbing compound with a wool pad, then machine polish. thats what i read, what i should do. guess im wonder and idk if you would know.. Use wet and dry sanding (wet) anytime you want to smooth the job with medium or fine grade abrasive and you can get the surface very wet without causing any damage (which is almost always).. 1994 skeeter 200sx faded clear example of a good wet sanding, buffing, polishing and detailing on an older bass boat. but i have to say that this boat was neglected for years and should not have gotten this bad..
