Black bayou is a very good lake and used to be alot better but they put a ton of grass carp in the lake a few years ago and really hurt the little lake. the problem right now is the gaint salvinia it gets blown around and sometimes it covers the lake and will fill the boat launch.. I drove all the way to that launch from the main launch. the water is clear to navigate your boat, but their is a lot of floating dead sylvania and off the boat channel their is a lot of growth off the trees and etc that prevent you from fishing much other than the boat channel itself.. Cypress black bayou in benton, la is a full service recreation area that includes swimming, camping, cabins for rent, fishing piers, a zoo and much more..
Well after my drive up to look at the lake, it will still be some time before we are fishing black bayou hosston. lake i still very low, not sure you could put a bass boat in. maybe a flat bottom or duck boat.. Reservations for camping, rving or lodging can be made with the front gate at (318)965-0007 during regular business hours. reservations for picnic shelters or event center can be with administration at (318)965-2289, monday-friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. payment in full is required to confirm reservations..
